Guy Powles Travel Scholarship

Applications are welcome from postgraduate students for the Guy Powles Travel Scholarship, to attend and present at the AAPS biennial conference in Sydney 2025.

Dr Guy Powles was a Pacific legal scholar and founding member of AAPS. He acted as auditor and advisor to our organization from its inception in 2004 until his passing in 2016. For more about Guy Powles see the 2017 AAPS newsletter.

The scholarship is valued at up to $800, to go towards accommodation and travel costs, plus free conference registration. Applications are due by 13 February, and applicants will be notified by 21 February. The award will be paid as a reimbursement for expenses at the conference.

To apply, please send a short cover note combined with a brief CV and a support letter from your supervisor to ToHellWithDrowning2023@gmail.com. Criteria will be based on financial need, the work being presented at the conference, and the supervisor’s letter.

Applicants must be currently enrolled as a postgraduate student, and must be a current student member of AAPS.
